To achieve its objectives of delivering high-quality services to its clients Expand wishes to recruit a suitable candidate to deliver IT System Administration Services as IT System Administrator. Job Brief

  • We are looking for an IT System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware, and networks.
  • Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.
  • Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities, and Duties

  • Typical responsibilities include performing backups, ensuring that scheduled jobs are performed, troubleshooting IT issues, user administration and installing standard equipment.
  • Define, analyse, plan, measure, and improve all aspects of the availability of IT services.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all IT infrastructure, processes, tools, roles, etc., are appropriate for the agreed service level targets for availability.
  • Consider all resources required to deliver the service, and plans for short, medium, and long-term business requirements.
  • Make recommendations for new services and equipment to purchase and works with various vendors for procurement.
  • Support development team for the transition of new products and services to the production environment.
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
  • Monitor all critical aspects of servers to ensure that proactive actions are taken to meet the required capacity needs. This includes monitoring disk space, services, performance, scheduled tasks, etc.
  • Monitor the performance of third-party support vendors. Ensure that agreed service levels are provided in cases of disaster, by reducing the risk to an acceptable level and planning for the recovery of IT services.
  • Performing root cause analysis for detected issues to ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Perform system patching, updates as required.
  • Oversees systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
  • Automation of system administration task using scripts (bash).
  • Oversee file management on a centralized resource (i.e. File Servers, Virtualization Server, and Application Server) or on individual workstations
  • Implement, document and maintain ISMS Policies, Standards, Procedures ensuring teams comply to the same
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
  • Manages problem tickets and provide customers with timely feedback on status. Provide assistance with issue escalation and resolution.
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Maintain and manage VOIP system (Asterisk)
  • Ensuring all software is properly licensed and up to date
  • Performing day-to-day operational activities.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor
Profil recherché pour le poste : IT System Administrator

    Knowledge and Skills that would be advantageous

    • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
    • Experience working in and managing a virtualized computing environment
    • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical person.
    • Windows and Linux Administration 
    • Knowledge of control and risk management concepts and methodologies in latest technologies like Cloud, virtualization, mobility, etc. 
    • Experience in developing and managing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan. 
    • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
    • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
    • Must be flexible, self-motivated and able to work as a team
    • Ability to learn new technical skills and new technologies

    Experience and Education/Certifications

    • Diploma or Degree Holder in IT
    • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
    • Experience with Linux, Windows, MySQL, networking
    • Hands on maintenance experiences of computer related hardware.
